pride & joy

And now a word from our numbers.

Maybe we've been too hard on numbers. At a smallish liberal arts university like William & Mary, we like to say that "you're more than a number." But maybe that gives you the impression that numbers are bad. We like numbers. Some of our best friends are numbers. In fact, sometimes it feels really good to be a number, especially numbers like these:

#4 for best undergraduate teaching among national universities (U.S. News & World Report)
#1 public university in study abroad participation (The Institute of International Education's "Open Doors" report)
#13 ranking for happiest freshmen at state universities (CBS Moneywatch)
#1 undergraduate business program for marketing (Bloomberg Businessweek)
#6 ranking among all public universities (U.S. News & World Report)
#3 smartest public college (Business Insider)
#7 among top 100 "Best Value" colleges in the nation (Kiplinger)

Add up those numbers and the conclusion is clear: William & Mary is one of the best universities in America and a wise educational investment. (The numbers also add up to 35, but that seems less important.)
